I found in the fridge five exposed rolls of 120 film from a trip to Italy in 2013. These may be my only rolls taken with the Hasselblad SWC so far.

Thanks for any tips on where to get the five rolls developed and scanned.

How good are scans from thedarkroom.com?

Reading some older threads on this topic suggests to me to buy a scanner. Is this the best way to go here? Epson V700 is the least costly scanner ...

Raid, for C41 film I highly recommend thefindlab.com
I've used a bunch of other places, some good, some not, and these guys are equal to the best i have used, with the cheapest prices.

p..s I have had some lousy results from the darkroom.com for 120 film and have given up on them. Scan lines, drip marks, dust. Also expensive.

Thank you for this tip! I will check them out next.
I have now seen reports in which TheDarkRoom is pointed out as a lab not to mail film to.

Is their BASIC+SCAN developing the film and scanning it?

I have never used the FIND lab but I swear by Richard Photo Lab. Usually I would avoid having any post at the time of scanning but I let Richard do their thing and my scans on portra 400 turn out wonderful. If I expose correctly I hardly ever need to do any additional correction. I always go with the frontier scans but I've been considering seeing if I really notice much difference with the noritsu scans.

basicscan, basic+scan, premiumscan are all dev and scan. difference being how much editing they do to ur scans. i get the basic as i dont mind doing the work myself.

Do I mail the rolls ti them in any envelopem and they mail them back in their envelope or must I use some mailers?

I put the film in a zip lock bag, then into a padded envelope. Enclose the order form that you printed from their site. They don't have mailers, which is fine as the mailers that some places provide, provide no protection.

Make sure to mark on the order form whether you want the negatives returned.

I would suggest you not put all you eggs in one basket. Murphy's law and all that. Split the rolls up and mail 3 or 4 envelopes.

Just me, I get paranoid sometimes. Things only go wrong when they are irreplaceable.

I took the chance, and I sent out today all five rolls. Is it is "meant to be", then I get back some awesome scans. If not, then I should have listened to your advice!

Precision Camera in Austin. Excellent service and price. Sponsors of this forum. Mention your membership here for special pricing. I've been using them for years, never had anything to complain about.
