I got a 14e over ebay a couple weeks ago. Everything appeared in order. Decent cosmetic condtiion with the exception of random dirt and crud. Viewfinder was good and was easy to clean, once I got the top cover off, with some gently placed air puffs. And, as expected, the light seals were obliterated. Haven't changed them out yet.
-However, the aperature ring freely spins from open to close. Is this normal or is it supposed to be indexed? The aperature leaves open and close with no problem.
-There was some battery corrosion. Bits of green around the eye piece and flash shoe. Still had the old mercury batteries in there. I was able to clean out the battery case w/ some vinegar but the lead from the case to the meter switch was eaten away and the wire detatched. I've never soldered before so I didn't know if I really wanted to mess with it.
I've tried contacting Mr. Hama, but haven't received a reply. Plus, I've read he's having some health problems w/ the family so I don't really want to bother him. The local repair shop specializes in higher end cameras and sets their price accordingly.
So my choices are to just fix the light seals and shoot this w/ no meter, which I'm not quite fond of but can do. Try to fix the battery case/meter wire and hope the meter is accurate. Or send it off to a pro.
Sorry for being long-winded. Just figured there were some folks on here who went through a similar perdicament and wanted to see what they did.
Thanks. And Hi!

Welcome Bogatko,
I got my Lynx 14e back from Mark Hama a couple of weeks ago. The aperture ring moves freely, no clickstops. Mark does a fine job. Try calling him.
