Every year I have a few resoloutions, drink less beers etc, this year I have set myself one Rangefinder resolution, shoot more film and buy less photographic kit. Shoot more film buy less gear, thats it, I'll let you know how I get on in 2013. What resolutions do you have for 2013

I have resolved not to make any new years' resolutions, as they'd surely be broken soon. Hmmm, and I might break that one too!

Fun thread, I launched this last year (specifically on photography then) and this year you beat me to it! Thanks for starting it!

Simple list:
  • still print that postcard-sized book with photographs I mentioned about a year ago
  • develop my own m.o. and style more
  • start making true money from photography
  • complete project no.1: 'To Hell with Poverty', on modern-day poverty in The Netherlands
  • complete project no.2: 'School's out, for Ever', on the demolition of a 45-yr old high school building where I went to school myself and worked in for 10 years

0) Stop procrastinating on getting more healthy.
1) Finish setting up a darkroom and start printing again.
2) Sell everything I haven't used in the last two years (expect a few fixed lens rangefinders which I now accept I am collecting :))

Make more and better photos.
Enjoy the equipment I've got more.
Publish two more photo books.

Mine is Make a print using my Grandfathers darkroom equipment he left to me.
Also keep scanning his many negatives and slides to share with the family.

Every Day

Every Day

I don't like the notion of New Year's resolutions. I think regularly about my shortcomings and things I want to do in my life. When I decide something must change or that I want to accomplish something, I start on it right away. I don't wait until the new year. Put another way, every day is a start of a new year for me.

But, to play along with the fun aspect of this notion, I'll say that I have two goals for the new year: get a Leica M9 camera and a girlfriend--necessarily in that order.

Shoot more at f8 and f5.6, and not so much wide open.

Sell all my camera gear I'm not using.

Fill my day with as what I wish to instead of what I must do.

Find real gainful employment.
These days I think that's all about luck and who you know, instead of experience and qualification.

Spend more time with my wife & take more photo's of my family.

Shoot more b&w so maybe I'll get better at this, especially developing film.

Updating my blog site more. (which goes along with shooting more)

Quit facebook...again!...I think that's all.:)

+1. Resembles my own situation and experience. My only (re-) solution, not giving up ... :)

Shoot more film through my RF cameras to regain my artistic edge that was lost through an evil DSLR!! Continue loving my family, honor God with my work and be a better photographer.
