Hi all,

I've been using this ultron for almost 2 year, and pleased with its performance so far.
But lately, since maybe 3-4 months ago the focusing ring is very stiff to turn . At first it only affected some part and i almost didnt noticed it, but now it affected almost all the way from 0.7m to infinity.
When i turn it slowly, i noticed that the worse part is between 0.7m to 2.5m.

Strangely when i use my other hand to hold ANY part of the lens barrell in front of the focus ring (i.e. the aperture ring, the ring with the dot, or even the filter attached in front), and turn the focus ring, it turns both way smoothly. Well i still noticed some bumps and difference in stiffness/resistance/smoothness from 0.7m to infinity, but its definetely better.

The thing is, It is impossible to practice this during actual photography, unless you have more than 2 hands! :bang:
It becomes so annoying (and it even resist to turn at one time) that i stop using it completely. But I still bring it wherever i go, just in case suddenly the illness have been magically cured!
I really like this lens, as it has become the main contender along with 35 lux for my primary general usage lens. The ultron is a nice change of pace from the uber-sharp, high contrast, modern design of leica lens.

It also (so far) has successfully defended my wallet from the temptation of the dreaded 28 'Cron and now the 28 elmarit.

Anyone here had a similar experience with the ultron?
Or is there anyone that have a clue of what actually happened?
Do you think this is a normal lens that only need to have CLA'd to fix it?
I tried to closely inspect the movement of the rear element, but i didnt find anything suspicious. Also tried to change the l-m adapter but didnt resolve the problem.

I live in Indonesia, so I'm not sure if i can send to anyone near here to be CLA'd.

Thanks for you help.
