Been thinking about getting the Nokton, and to save a bit of money I'd get one of those 43mm tilted hoods on ebay. Does anyone here have experience with this combo? I'm wondering...
1) Does the hood cause any vignetting?
2) When it's screwed all the way in, does one of the vents line up with the viewfinder?

This non-vented one works well: 200530261307@ebay.
On the left:
The right one is from cameraquest and not much cheaper than the stock hood.

Thanks for the tip on the 43mm wide. Anyone try the tilted & vented version? That's my preference, but if it doesn't work out I'll get the one above.

I had the tilted/vented one and it even vignetted on my Nikkor 50/1.4 (with filter). So I'm confident it won't work on the Nokton even though I haven't tried it. Have lots of 43mm filter'ed lenses ....

I have bought 2 aftermarket hoods for the 35/1.4: a collapsible rubber one from adorama and a square plastic one on fleabay.
the collapsible rubber hood vignetted on film (worked fine on the r-d1), so I trimmed the rim just enough to not vignette anymore. it worked, but it won't completely keep the lens from getting circular flare when wide open (which was the reason I went after hoods).
the square hood almost doubles the length of the lens, but makes it 99.9% flare proof. it will take 1/9th of the viewfinder, but I'm studying cutting the plastic and making a vent.

Has anyone tried using the square leica hood on a nokton? I know it's adaptable to a 40mm Summicron but not sure about the noktons...
