On *bay I saw some stores with an add for a 4Gb card compatible with the R-D1(s). As far as I know the R-D1(s) can only handle upto a 2Gb card.
Does anyone shoot with 4Gb in his/her R-D1(s)?

No, 2gb non-SDHC SD card is the limit. It won't work.
PS: You "add" a coiumn of numbers. An advertisement is an "ad". I realize English might not be your first language and I hope you don't take offense at my correction.

Thanks for the ad and for the info of course!

A 2GB card will hold a lot of images, though...I haven't found it a handicap with this camera.

Well... to be honest it holds quite a few, but in reality it is not enough for a lot of serious shooters. Sucks for me. I fill up a 2gb card pretty quick in the event of a night. 200 images in raw is not really that many images to be honest; especially when you are in the "on" mode.

Better loose 2 GB than 4GB IMHO. SD cards are tiny and can be lost or damaged easily.

if you're using the Epson, however, by that time you'd probably need to change the battery anyways -- so it's no biggie.
if i'm in the groove, i just change them at the same time, rather than try to eek out all i can. i have enough of both cards and batteries and it keeps me from missing much.

If 2Gb is not enough is very simple, get more 2gb cards... they are cheap these days
