Its f5. They made it slow enough to cover up any focusing errors like with the 90mm f4

Well, it is no rangefinder lens, but a accessory mirror box lens. Long lenses for these are not that uncommon - the 180mm "Olympia" Sonnar was already introduced in the mid thirties.

True. However, the 1st version of the 180/2.8 Olympia Sonnar was RF-coupled (external Contax mount).
