Hi guys, I have recently picked up an M3 DS and a 5cm Summicron collapsible (LTM) with Leitz M to LTM adaptor.
With the lens extended I understand the distance and aperture scales should be offset to the left a little, which mine are, but the aperture dot on the outer ring is around my almost 90' to the left (compared to the distance marker). So when your rotate the aperture selector, the dot does not align with the selected f stop. This is OK at the wide end, as it is obvious which you have selected, but as you approach F16 the clicks get closer together and can be hard to tell which f stop is selected!!
Does anyone know if it is easy to re-align this ring? I have seen the focusing part of the lens disassembled, but never the aperture selector/front elements.
Otherwise the lens is in great shape, no obvious cleaning marks or haze that I can see with the aid of a torch. I suppose this means it may have been re-coated - this one is purple, is that a sign of a new coating?
Hope someone can help 🙂
