75mm frame lines on M camera

currently learning to use 75mm lens with M camera ... moreover the 50mm/75mm pair frame lines sometimes make me mistook 50mm for 75mm that upper and lower part of what I want to capture on film are cut out.:bang:

Does Leica or someone offer to change 75 frame lines to be solid line ( as well either take out 50 frame lines totally or make 50mm frame line being non-solid lines )?

Should the above option is not available or cost the same of a R3A/M camera, would then R3A/M camera being the better solution ( advantage is 1:1 viewfinder ) ?

Sorry. I cannot speak about Leica products.
The 75 framelines on the 1:1 finder of the R3* are really heaven. Plenty of space around the frames, and a 1:1 view to give a both eyes open, framelines floating in air effect.
f/2 is possible to focus on the R3*. If you are focusing wide open and close up at f/1.4, you may need greater accuracy, I don't know.

A solution to the problem is the 1.40X magnifier. On a M6 with a 0.72 finder it translates the finder into 1.00. This makes the 50mm framelines unusable, kinda like the 28mm framelines if you wear glasses (they are still visable, but you have to scan your eye a lot).

The big bonus is better focusing. I find the 50mm frame unobtrusive with the 1.40X.

I have a friend that owns an industrial quality laser cutter. I've been trying to get hold of a frameline mask so we can see if we can reproduce them with other combinations.

I particularly want one with 40/75 instead of 50/75.

Yeah, I betcha other folks would be interested in that. 25/40/75 makes for a really nice three-lens kit, and you can handle the 25 with an external VF pretty easily, especially if you indulge in zone focussing.

Actually, the CV 75mm external VF isn't bad either, and it's got 1:1 magnification. If nothing else, you can use it to practice identifying the 75mm field of view. After a while, you can guess the 75mm coverage pretty well from the 50mm framelines. That skill, plus the occasional peek at the external VF, permits you to use a 75mm lens on (say) an M3.

I use 75mm alot and find I prefer using an external vf. The internal frameline is too cluttered for my liking.

I use a 1.25X magnifier (clone made in China) on my 0.72 M6 (=0.90x); it works pretty well with the 75mm lux and you can still use the 50mm lines if necessary. Cheap as well.
