Just two days to fool around with the new machine, but so far very positive. Good handling, good viewfinder, very fast and responsive, quiet shutter, high ISO performance much better than expected, autofocus performance seems pretty good (although I have not tortured it the way Rob Galbraith has). Bought as a safari body, but it may see a lot more use than that...

BW performance should be even better, because the noise is well controlled and grain-like. I will post a sample.

Cheers,

Glad you like your new 7D! I have to say though, if that photo is really ISO 2500, I'm not too impressed! I feel like my 5D can perform easily as well. Did you do much post processing on it or up the exposure?

Otherwise, nice photo!

Considering the sensor size, pixel density and the fact we're looking at a highly compressed web image, I'd say it looks darn good.
I bet it will look great in print.

Now an example of BW at ISO 3200. Overall very clean. Some motion blur because the shutter speed was 1/60 sec.

I also attach a 100% crop of the central area. Again, pretty impressive considering the state of the art even a year ago.
