Has anyone bought any 1500 mAh NP-80 batteries from 7dayshop.com recently?
If so, is there a manufacturing date?
(Li-ion cells have a life-span of 2-3 years from the time of manufacture, regardless of whether or not they're being used.)
OTOH, at £5.99 each, I haven't much to lose!

I have three. They don't last nearly as long as the official battery. Maybe 50 shots with more than usual chimping - that's about half the life of the standard battery. Based on my using them this weekend at a wedding.
Others have mentioned the Jessops equivalent - much more expensive but seem to give a good performance.

I placed an order with 7Dayshop in June. I an still outstanding £70 worth of film. Trying to get hold of them is almost impossible and they come up with all sorts of nonsensical wacky responses when you do get hold of them (if they bother to reply). When you lose £70 in a £170 order, they are no longer cheap. I have had it with them.

I have 3 7dayshop 3.7v 1500Mah batteries.
No problems and they seem to last the same time for me as the Epson (80 - 100 shots in Raw with minimal chimping), but my Epson battery is now two years old, although I don't remember it having a longer life in the past. No dates on the 7dayshop ones as far as I can see.
I also have a more expensive Uniross 1200Mah (£30 two years ago), which lasts for about 80% of the Epson, as you would expect.
Note though that others have reported trouble with shutter lockups with non Epson batteries in other threads on the subject.

Bad luck Kim, I've been using 7dayshop since March this year with only one problem.
It was a dead NiMH battery and they replaced it, no questions asked.
I can see where problems could creep in though, the postman always leaves the jiffies underneath my front door mat and I live on a busy main road. I'm suprised no-one has robbed them yet.
Then you have to prove to them that you didn't get the packages...

I ordered two, which arrived today. There is no date of manufacture marked anywhere upon them, and no clue of manufacturer; the only mark on them is a dot matrix D-2002L, which I presume doesn't apply to a manufacturing date.
The one thing I will say for 7dayshop is that they do at least tell you within a day of ordering if a product is out of stock, and they've got back to me within a similar time for other queries. I've had other suppliers, for memory cards, not tell me at all, until I call up a week later and ask where my order is.

You should complain to the Post Office - they're are not supposed to leave parcels outside. (It happened to me a couple of times and I complained, and they were very apologetic and sent me a couple of books of stamps by way of apology - and parcels were never left outside again)I can see where problems could creep in though, the postman always leaves the jiffies underneath my front door mat and I live on a busy main road.

I don't have to prove that they didn't arrive. They are shown as not dispatched on their website. :bang: :bang:
They have said twice they were out of stock of the last ever shipment of Velvia and then said it was back in, did I want it but still nothing.

Sorry to hear of your problem Kim. I have used 7dayshop.com since they began trading, so that's a few years and have never had cause to complain.
I get all my film and batteries from them.
Bought a couple of batteries for my Canon G5 and they proved to be superb with just the same life as the Canon version and a heck of alot cheaper. Recently bought 2 batteries for my new Canon G7, which I believe are the same as the ones for the new 400D and so far they have proven to be good too.

And they won't refund you?
Each time I've had items out of stock they've refunded within 24 hours. Have you tried contacting your credit card company or bank?

For those that don't want to deal with 7dayshop, but want a cheaper battery than Epson and are prepared for any risk, Amazon.co.uk lists 8 varying in price from £3.24 - £16.99. Generic to brands such as Hannel & Uniross. All are 3.7V, but not all have the Mah. Most that do are less than 1500Mah, but there is a 1450Mah (if I remember the unmarked £3.24 was previously marked 1500Mah?)
