And here I thought camera prices in the stratosphere were all about Leica.

I was just thinking, I need to buy the camera, find an adapter and use the lens on my mirrorless digital, and flip the camera for just pennies on the dollar!

These are collector's items in Japan. I have had the pleasure of holding one, but not using one.
I don't know the current market in Japan, but about 8-years ago my friend wanted about 500,000 yen for the one he had in the shop.
I stupidly walk away from a Canon WWII rangefinder X-ray camera at a flea market because I didn't know what they hell it was, but when I researched on the net, I hurried back to get it but it was already gone.
It pays to research and be educated!

My Konica I with a 50mm f/3.5 lens is in equal or better condition. I would be tickled to death if it were worth 10% of that price.
I wouldn't sell it though.

My late father policy regarding flea markets and photography equipment was buy everything odd looking with a affordable price. We will deal later with my mothers reactions

Per Peter Dechert's excellent book, it is a unique mount. Not much chance of ever finding another lens for it.
Then again, it's unlikely that anyone will pay ~9K for this camera to run film through it!
Cheers,
Dez
