Today while looking at a glass case full of cheap cameras in a local thrift store, I spotted a box labeled "90mm f2 Summicron --Leitz Canada" for ONLY $19.95!
My heart started to race... what a deal! I don't use my elderly 90mm f4 Elmar much, but I'd love to have the legendary 90mm Summicron in my Leica M2 kit.
So I asked the clerk to pull the Summicron box out of the glass case... it felt fairly heavy... YES, there's a lens inside!
But alas... the lens inside was a 150mm f2.8 Elmaron (sp?) PROJECTOR lens... not the fabulous Summicron... :bang:🙁
I have no use for the projector lens, but thought about buying it anyway for resale profiteering, but decided not to. Perhaps some other RFFer in Santa Barbara might be interested: it's at the Alpha Thrift store on Hollister Avenue, near Fairview.
