Found these 2 Minoltas at the local flea market this weekend. The meter even works on the SR-7 and is accurate. In addition I got a Minolta Rokkor 200mm f/3.5 lens with the take..

Very cool. Did you get a good price on them? I'd like to have one of the old SR series Minoltas like your SR7, but all of them i've seen were in need of a CLA, all gummed up badly. The older ones didn't have meters. I have an old Chinese made Seagull 35mm SLR that is a clone of one of the SR Minoltas (the SR2, I think). Its fun to play with but is so poorly made that i'm afraid I'll break it if I use it much!

I'm curious about your sig. You say "Fine Art Photography".

What's the difference between "Fine Art Photography", and "Ordinary Photography", or "Subnormal Photography"?

Can you explain what it means?

I got both bodies with the 50mm f/1.4 and 200mm f/3.5 Rokkor lens for $20. The seller said film was no longer available so the cameras were useless except to display😱

Good deal. I have the Rokkor 200mm f3.5. I like it a lot. Very bright and sharp.

If you don't understand, you never will. Surely you can define "Commercial Photography" or "Scientific Photography" or "Journalistic Photography". Why is Fine Art so hard?

No, I can't tell what "fine art" is.

I don't feel the wiki article is accurate.

That's why I'm asking him why he thinks he's a "fine art photographer".

* Valdemar has decayed into a pool of liquid putrescence. You can thank Poe for that.

The history of the founding of École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts will tell you what it means.

Colloquially, it's "art for art's sake" as opposed to e.g. a bust for commission or "incidental" art, such as reportage photos that become "art" by mysterious processes of cultural consensus.

Open a new thread for this if you really want to get into it, but it sounds like something a college freshman with a high opinion of himself would bring up.

Colyn, nice find! Those Minoltas are a kick, as are their Hi-Matics.

I am dreaming of a SR7, such a lovely camera, I killed my SRT 101 last week, no more meter and automatic diaph, but it still can takes pictures 😀
