Honestly I remember some of his photos, but I didn't remember the name
It is Ron Galella.

The article is in Italian, but you may click on a photo and look at the gallery.
I instead, by chance, have met long time ago Rino Barillari dubbed, the king of paparazzi

Many years ago, probably in the early eighties, I was sitting at a beach restaurant in Fregene and noticed him at the table next to mine.
He was accompanied by a pretty woman and had an F4 resting on the table.
From time to time he grabbed the camera and took some photos
He is the only famous photographer I have seen in person

Oh, yeah...I remember Galella. He was the first or one of the first "in your face" photographers of the celebrity set. Now there are hundreds or thousands doing the same.

Wasn't he the one who had the physical altercation with Jackie O?

I think he started wearing the helmet after Brando beat him up.

Marlon Brando broke his jaw; after that Galella worse the helmet when photographing Brando.

Anyway, a paparazzo represent all the opposite of my photographic aspirations.
Beside the fact that I am an hobbyist I don't care a bit about celebrities, what they do what they don't do
I am not a gossip fan which I consider a waste of precious time, dealing with matters of no interest whatsoever for me.
In addition, I am an easy guy and I refuse the idea that to take a photo I am disturbing someone and its privacy, let alone arguing and fighting with the subject.
I am simply an art lover which tries to capture some beauty with a camera, since I have never had the time to seriously learn painting
