I just thought I'd post a link to one of my photo galleries with images from the R3A and the nokton 1.4 (40mm) along with the super-wide 15mm

I shoot in both digital and film but simply LOVE the rangefinder for the charm and quality it gives to my pictures. WHo wouldn't love a Leica but I've got to admit, my little Bessa is serving me well.

Id love to get feedback on my gallery but feel free just to look if your hovering about buying this excellent camera.

Enjoy the forums!

Thanks for the kind comments everyone 🙂

May I invite ALL Bessa users to join and post pictures to this flickr group should you wish.

Its a central resource for showcasing photographs only taken on Bessa bodies and you'd all be more than welcome to drop by.

The group is only useful if you are already a member of flickr.

Best Wishes

Nice set of images Paul.

Bokeh issues aside (highlights can be a tad harsh, IMO) I really like this 40/1.4 Nokton lens. I have the S.C version. These shots were using an MP but I guess the camera matters less than the lens in the end....

These three were taken with that lens:

.

These are great pics! I wonder if there is a vast difference in the two versions of the lens? Is one coated while the other isn't?

Camera bodies are certainly useless without the lens to focus all those light rays onto the film although for anyone who relies on the inbuilt light meters, I understand the Leica's are slightly better.

Maybe we should try to escape complete camera reliance if possible?

Thanks for the comment Paul. Yes, I have the single-coated version (supposedly some kind of "limited edition"). Some people worry since it's single-coated that it might be more prone to flare. I have not seen that to be the case---it's does great in flare-prone situations in my experience. The single-coating supposedly gives a more "classic" look to B&W. All I know is I do not always like the contrasty look of some of the more modern lenses with their multiple coatings, particularly for B&W work. That said many report little difference in the end....

These were taken with my 40/1.4 Nokton S.C as well:
