A few thoughts on the FED 1

Well, I've run a couple of rolls of film through the FED 1... C41 b/w. I prefer Tri-X but C41 is great for testing new camera. And hour-processing labs are good for that too. 😉

So... it's a quirky thing, for sure. The odd shutter speeds and even odder f/stops take some getting used to, especially when you're metering in your head! (I have no handheld meter yet). Other than that, it's very straightforward. Focussing and viewing through separate finders is no problem either, once you get used to it.

I'll post some results when I get them scanned (eventually).

I love the size and heft of the camera, and it balances beautifully with the FED 50/3.5 collapsible.

The Leica bug has been banished for a bit longer! :angel:


AND I only forgot to extend the lens ONCE!!! :bang:
