I'm looking for a flash for my Mamiya 6. I was thinking about a Metz flash but I am open to suggestions. Thanks!

Nikon SB-800 is the best all-round flash I'm aware of.

When I photographed my step son's wedding I used a Vivitar 285HV flash on my Mamiya 6. Excellent results and great fill flash capability outdoors.

Another +1 for Vivitar 285HV. I use mine with the Stroboframe bracket and I can use the remote light sensor of the 285HV right on the flash socket of Mamiya 6 or 7.

You can use any flash with automatic or/and manual mode.
I use a Metz 54 MZ-3 when I need power but more often a small Leica SF-20.

Depends on how powerful you want. For high power I agree about the 285 on a dedicated stroboframe bracket, it's a bit big and heavy for the camera itself. If you just need a small flash any little flash will work, I've used a small rollei for fill and close quarters. By the way, for some reason the lenses produce spectacular B&W images using a fill flash outdoors, especially for environmental portraits. Bob.

Three cheers for the 285HV. All I have ever needed... Carry two in my work bag.
