This post puts me at 10,000. It's been a great ride, since 2006. My Rangefinder influences have been many: Mr Gandy, Roger Hicks, Mr T and David Farkas at the Leica store in Miami and all of you. RFF is the only forum I stick with all these years. Informative, intelligent and inspiring. I only hope my participation has not been a drag. I have tried to pitch in my share and I am looking forward to continuing to do so.
We are in an upside down world right now and hope it ends soon. Wishing my fellow (and sister) RFFer's that you to stay safe and healthy. Wahoo 10,000!!

Congrats on that post count Akiva, I sometimes marvel at how long some of us have been here, and it's one of the only places on the internet that's been a constant for me for this long. Good company indeed.

It has been a pleasure reading those 10,000 posts, Akiva!
(Well, I've read most of them anyway.
)
More importantly than the number is what I see as your continuing positive contribution to this place, thank you for that.

Yes, congratulations on 10k!
Many of us early arrivals, around 2004, 5, 6, came from the head bartender's CVUG and RF list serves. About once a year I still get a message from someone on the lists.
Dante and a few others were there, and are still around here.

Ok moving on from 10,000. Tonight, my wife and settled down to sips from Jefferson Reserve Kentucky Bourbon while playing old Rock Classics. Some we even danced to.
Today I noticed when I take walks during the day that I'm meeting (from 6-10 feet away) folks in my neighborhood that I have never met before. I have decided to do a series of photos of them as a sort of sweet side of the pandemic. Something to remember it by, when it is all said and done. Thinking of using my trusty meterless Nikon F with a Nikkor 50/1.4 and Ilford XP-2 to get a bit of contrast in there.

Some achievement! Congratulations and thank you for your contributions, Akiva; always of interest.
RFF is the only forum I contribute to; intelligent, informative, knowledgeable, humorous, and yes, sometimes challenging!
Long may the RFF continue, in these difficult times it’s needed more than ever.

I've enjoyed reading all of your posts Akiva. That number's a considerable achievement. May you have many more posts to make. Here's a sunrise from my place in south-western Australia this morning that I thought was nice to see.

Here’s a morning coffee toast, Akiva. Thanks for sharing the sweet satisfaction in this milestone. I like your plan to portray neighbors going out during this ambiguous ambivalent time where we are supposed to distance without shunning and mask sociability with tiny facial televisions (I’m wearing an iPad).
RFF could use someone to organize milestone fêtes or festschrifts for milestones of longtime members—as Tony has long done for birthdays. 1000 posts, you get a box of Tri-X; 5000 posts, a postcard-print blizzard; but for 10,000, an M6!
...Well, maybe a busted Barnack knockoff from your birth year, and a Harbor Freight screwdriver set missing several screwdrivers. But with winks and best wishes.
Sincerely now, I was rereading the cancer-sympathy thread for Roger Hicks, which evolved shortly and sadly into a memorial thread. And I was thinking about what happens to gratitude when it is put off, belated, when events force its acknowledgment into a ritual utterance that begins “Very sad....”
RFF, gratitude for friends and colleagues is good for everybody’s heart. Consider the communal benefit of celebrating milestones of the upright with long shadows, the durable presences, the righteous devoted filmophiles, the 2005 club.
Talk amongst yourselves.
Akiva, would you share your address? And do you have a 35mm emulsion preference? Sorry, I don’t have a busted FED or Argus.

Aha, I’ll look for some XP2 in the freezer.
(You can PM with an address, of course, if you don’t really want a pile of busted old cameras showing up.)
