this has been moving so fast i am near breathless.
before i say anything more, let me thank you all.
thank you all very much. truly, deeply and sincerely.
i am normally turtle like in my ability to say thank you.
being very much a loner most of the time i don’t usually have to. 🙂
i have been in hiding these past few days. traveling ‘invisibly’ over the forum, not
sure what to do or say.
i did read the thread...
really, starting a thread that states ‘back alley do not read’? what did you expect?
i am the moderator after all, plus i need to keep at least one eye on frank s a good part of the time. 😉
when i first saw the thread, i was touched and felt very complemented but
honestly thought it would go away.
after a while it seemed to be still alive and growing. i started to sweat a bit.
i thought about it but could not think of a gentle way to say thanks but jeez guys, a new camera?
so, i chickened out and e-mailed jorge for some back up!
but jorge, after waiting for what seemed like forever, finally responded by jumping
on the bloody bandwagon!!, cheering you all on and donating to the fund himself.
kinda felt stuck after that.
i honestly do not know what to say.
i have been writing this note over & over in my head all day.
btw, i didn’t get much done at work today, my boss thanks you all very much! lol!!
things like this don’t normally happen to me.
most of my friends are much like me, working stiffs who live life cheque to cheque
but know the value of friendship and friends.
we are not big gift givers but we share good times, laughs and the things that
memories (& good stories) are made from.
ok, I’m gettin’ all sappy here...
i love this place.
i even like the moderating part. it’s a sanctuary for me, a place to come and not
think about ‘other things’.
i love photography and coming here restarted my less than active involvement.
we are all pretty good people so moderating has not been a big chore, even lately
with some of the rudeness, it still is a great place compared to most other sites.
this place affords us all the wonderful opportunity for comradeship and friendship,
for learning and sharing, a ‘sanctuary’...
i could keep writing but it’s mostly cause i don’t know what to say and i think if i use enough words i just might start making sense and actually ‘say’ something.
many thanks to frank, for starting this and to all of you for your unbelievable generosity.
