I have written to Jay a couple of times and found out he is one of the few people taking pictures outside the green zone. Most journalists don't venture outside the greenzone he said as it is so dangerous, and if they do it's only for a short time or to get between one safe spot and another. He is a soldier, not a journalist and decided to take his camera and shoot everything he saw. I am not sure how the government feels about his work with all the positive spin and propaganda they smoke screen us with, but his work is amazing and shows a soldiers point of view of Iraq that I haven't seen from many people.

He is using a M8 and also uses a M7 as well. Each set of pictures he comes back with gets better and better. If you are on flickr drop him a line and give him some encouragement because it must be hell where he is. I don't know whether it is true, but I have heard that the American media censors heavily what is and isn't seen from jounalists in the middle east. The world needs to see what is really going on.
