Hello everybody, a friend of mine got married about two weeks ago and I was asked months ago to be "the photographer".....at first, I said "no", because I am not a "wedding photographer" but my friend told me that he had already had "Thai Wedding" photos months before the actual wedding, it basically involves going to the beach and getting dressed up in traditional Thai clothes and having a photographer take photographs in Thai style.......some examples would be "the couple looking at a fake star fish that is a prop", "holding a sword/cane with a very obvious fake back drop in the background" and "airbrushing his tattoo out of the photos" and doing extensive photoshopping to the photos.....It is very common around here for couples to get wedding photos months before the actual wedding, dressed up and posed for portraits wearing traditional clothes.......
He told me that he wanted "my style" photography at his wedding and that he and his soon to be wife were both fans of my photography and they would appreciate it if I would accept the job......I was very hesitant to say "yes" but, after discussing it with them and telling them about the type of film that I shoot and the "look" that the photos would have........they continued to ask me to do it.....I thought about it for awhile and finally decided to do it......so here are some of the results......By no means, do I consider myself a "wedding photographer" but I have shot weddings before in America and in Italy and I am aware that it is not my specialty....anyways, here are some photos....all I can say is " I tried my best".......BTW, they are really happy with the results........

Nice job, Michael! You caught the very essence of Thai weddings. The groom and bride should be very pleased.

hey, thanks a lot....like I said. "I tried my best" to photograph their wedding in "my style".....it was not easy because so many things would be happening at the same time and I had no idea where to go and what was coming next.....

Best travel wedding combo photos well done. I do not envy tie and jacket in Thai weather.

I know you said that you aren't a wedding photographer, but I think that's a good thing. These shots really capture the wedding beautifully and are much better than the wedding shots I usually see! Great job!
