Hello ,
This is my first post to the list and i want to present my best.
After short investigation I learned that Ansel Adams and William Henry Jackson used tessar lens contax cameras.
I want to know the exact class - 1,2,3 ... - of these cameras in contax family.
And if possible their lens and body serial numbers .
Were they 35mm or bigger format ?
Best ,

I have heard that Ansel Adams used a Contax II 35mm. William Henry Jackson was in a different century and used a view camera.

Ansel Adams used a Contax III with a 50-2.8 Tessar, starting 1936. There's a picture of what seems to be his camera here: http://gallery.photographyreview.com/showphoto.php?photo=66630
I have never heard that WHJ used a Contax, but it is possible, as he died in 1942 IIRC

He also shot with a Hasselblad later in his career as well (I seemed to remember some images credited to the Hassy in one of his books).
