Are there such things as accessory slow-speed timers which screw into the cable release socket so that a camera that doesn't have slow speeds can have its shutter button automatically pressed for the correct time for between 1/15th and 2 seconds etc?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Although not quite so much if it was a Leica accessory with commensurate price.:p

Thanks for the suggestion WJJ3.;)

Just googled 'heboo'. Turns out to be a piggin' Leica attachement with commensurate price, for £71 to over £250. Bah!

I piggin' knew it would be a ruddy Leica thingy that I 'need'.:bang:

I'll just have to wait until my £1 premium bond finally does its 'winning thing' which it's refused to do since it was bought for me in 1965.

Unless there are other makes/types out there?

My mom had an attachment like that for her Polaroid camera in the early 1960's. And I've seen similar things on other cameras over the years. You might try the auction site and see what pops up. I'm confident that Leica is not the only company who made things like that.

Though I did find a Leica self timer that was reasonably priced. Look up "Leica APDOO". They're going for $50-$60 on the auction site.

Best,

Thanks for the suggestion Timmyjoe. I've just done a quick google and unfortunately, it seems to just be a self-timer/delayed action timer rather than a slow-speed timer to control the shutter at speeds like 1/8, 1/4 etc.

I've tried searching on 'PicClick.co.uk' but haven't found the right wording to actually come up with these things on their own, I get hundreds of photos of digital cameras etc.
