I came across Thelma Pepper's photographs by chance a few years ago. They are most often quiet, gentle portraits of ordinary people set in their Canadian prairie homes. They are honest and humble pictures made with B&W film. And they are beautiful.
Thelma Pepper didn't really begin taking photography seriously until she was in her 60s. She died last week at 100.
