At the beginning again.
OK...
I am looking for some advice here.
First off, I already own a Canon EOS 1V-HS with a Tamron 28-105 2.8 LD, it is what I shoot with 90% of the time. I love it, but I think it is a little big for me. Things I like about it: Bomb proof, weather resistent, great metering and other features, possible L glass upgrades. I also have a GSN and a (yet to be recieved) QL17.
I mainly enjoy travel photography, street, and available light, with the odd landscape thrown in. I don't do macro work per se, but often like to fill the frame (or part of it) with things close to the lens.
Things that are important to me in a camera: Ease of use (after a learning curve of course), inconspicuity (not a word, but you get my drift), weight/size for hiking and generall taking with me everywhere, toughness (I am tough on my stuff and like to travel to rough areas) and most imporantly, image quality.
I shoot slides and am getting back into B&W.
So, should I sell the 1V? Trade it for an rf? What rf should I get? I am by no means indepandantly wealthy, but I can begin to save and be content with what I have for now. I don't want to have to buy another camera, after either. I want something that will last as long as I do.
So what would people here think? What should I estimate for a system to cover my needs? Which system would it be? Any help would be most appreciated.

The RF cannot cover all your photographical interests (Macro, long tele) so don't sell the SLR.
My recommendation would be not to invest too much at the first step. maybe you buy best such a great combo like a Bessa R plus 35mm Skopar at Cameraquest. Then use it EXCLUSIVELY for a month or two to get used to it. Then decide about further invests.
If not still sure do a second round with the Bessa.
Best,
Bertram
