I know there are various adapters to mount the G lenses onto other camera bodies, but are there adapters to mount a non G lens onto the Contax G body?

Why would you want to do this? The G cameras are mainly popular because of their excellent lenses. I have not seen adapters for mounting non-G lenses on a G1 or G2.

Yes, you can adapt C/Y to G, Contax made an adapter.

GA-1 - Allows the use of certain Contax/Yashica mount lenses (focal length of adapted lens is selectable on adapter: 28, 35, 50, 60, or 85mm).

Don’t see much point, but it can be done.

I was inquiring more out of curiosity than anything else. I'm quite happy with my G system as is. The only real change I've considered is whether to pick up the seemingly alternately praised and dismissed 35mm F/2.0 lens to add to my 21, 28, 45 & 90.

I'd really like the 16mm, but it's just way too pricey.

Thanks for the responses.

Oh, I like the 35/2 Planar a lot. Always have thought the general internet reputation of this lens was undeserved. Imagine if all your siblings were nobel prize winners, but you were merely a PhD....that's the 35.

I bought a 16mm lens after having bought the 28-45-90 set. Then, DAG converted the 16mm Hologon to Leica M mount.
