I have a ZM Sonnar 50 1.5 and optimized for 1.5 on my IKON. It is focusing pretty much spot on with the rangefinder. However, the lens will focus beyond infinity when it hits the hard stop at the infinity mark. If I focus with the rangefinder, the point that infinity comes into focus is a bit before the hard stop of the focusing ring. I would like to reset the hard stop to the same point that the lens focuses to infinity. I have looked around on the web and also searched the forum, but all i come up with is articles on focus shift. Focus shift isn't my problem, I know how to work within its limits. I just want to be able to focus at infinity when I hit the hard stop.

Before I start to disassemble the lens I thought I would ask. I am pretty comfortable working on my gear and have serviced and calibrated quite a few lenses and rangefinders, just haven't opened up a zeiss lens yet. So what is the easiest way to crack this baby open and make the adjustment to the focus ring?

Thanks for taking the time to read this. I appreciate any advice.

Best Regards,
Bill
