I took a series of digital images a few weeks ago and wanted a new way to display them rather than building a website page for them. I built a layout in pages then exported it to PDF. The result was ok but depending on the PDF reader it gave very different results.

I just happen to stumble upon Adobe Slate. It allows you to build a mini site with text and images. It wasn't rocket science to transform my pages work into the slate format. My only criticism is that it isn't robust enough. It does a decent job for what it does but leaves you wanting a little more control. You don't get to pick the fonts or sizes or layout. You have to pick a theme and settle for what they provide within that theme. You can bold and format the text a little and it has several image functions where you can change the features of the images. It publishes to the slate.adobe pages so I have mixed feelings about that. you can easily share on social media or embed the link on a page. the site seems to change characteristics much like bootstrap sites do for various media.

Anyway - Here is my test one. https://slate.adobe.com/cp/jci62/

the images were processed in Lightroom then added to Slate. Feed back welcome for the images and the software. I am no writer so you don't have to comment about the story line.

I enjoyed looking at the site/images on my iPad. :)

1. How long did it take to build?
2. Do you think there will be a charge at some point?

Thardy -- Since I had already written the text and had the images formatted the actual site took about an hour. I am a web developer by trade so it was intuitive for me.

Its adobe - It will disappear and be replaced with something else once people lose interest.
