ADOX Scala Kit for B/W Slide Processing

Adox consistently surprises. I do like Adox films, 100 and 400ASA done in Rodinal.

But I was surprised by this B&W reversal kit. At around 5 Euro/roll it is not a lot of money to do.
But who does this and why, or, what are color transparencies used for these days?

There is just something magic about going through the dev process and having a picture in your hands. I have been thinking about trying out B&W reversal myself.

I am doing BW transparencies for years. And I can highly recommend it! They offer a unique brillance and tonality!!
Absolutely superior to scanned BW films viewed on a computer monitor (computer monitors are generally not competitive because of their ridiculous low resolution and inability to show real halftones). The resolution, sharpness and tonality of real BW slides surpasses monitor pictures by a huge margin.

And BW slides are very different to BW silver-halide prints: As a transparent, "light-flooded" medium their brillance is of course outstanding. And the tonality with very deep blacks and brillant highlights is just awesome.

You have to see it by yourself: A BW transparency under an excellent slide loupe and in slide projection with a slide projector are really outstanding! Totally different to other photographic mediums.

Concerning the new ADOX Scala reversal kit: Yesterday I have just finished my first ADOX Scala 50 films with this kit: The results are really excellent! And the handling is very easy. I am totally satiesfied. Looks like ADOX has again designed a new outstanding product.

Cheers, Jan
