The most important thing about the so-called "standard" (50mm) lens is to know its limitations, and work within those. As one HCB did.
As for YouTube videos, they sometimes sometimes are good, but most only regurgitate already posted information. Too many for my liking consist mostly of yapyap from not very attractive personalities who ashamedly push brand name products or too enthusiastically (and often loudly) peddle misinformation.
For me, watching a lousy production mostly consisting of some geek yammering on for 20+ minutes about how good their chosen camera or lens or whatever gear are, is too much time wasted for what is left of my life. I get far better and more information - and much more enjoyment - from reading on sites like RFF.
Now and then a good YouTube video surfaces. Well worth watching when it does.
