Hello,

I have an old chrome Model 7 with a 50mm .95 lens. I plan on selling the camera but I do not take photographs and I do not know much about cameras. What should I do to make sure the camera is in good condition? I guess I could run a roll of film through it. Is there anything I should look out for, anything that may not be obvious? Also, what are some good places to sell a camera?

Thanks.

Welcome to RFF.

You answered your own question, you got to take some pictures with the camera before you do anything. I'd recommend a roll of C-41 color print film. Take pictures using all the shutter speeds and all of the lens apertures. Check to see if the meter works and is accurate. As to where to sell it, you can sell it here, on RFF. Ebay works too, for some.

I'm sure other folks will chime in with some tips too.

When I had a 7 and 50/.95 I put it on a tripod and tested all speeds and apertures. Best way to check focus and shutter speeds.
