A few weeks ago I posted here and asked the best way to receive payment from Belgium for my underwater housing for my nikon camera. Based on the advice given in the thread, I decided to ask the buyer to pay using a wire transfer. The buyer agreed to this and, according to his email, he sent the wire transfer at the end of last week. My bank tells me that foreign wire transfers take 5 to 7 business days.
While I am waiting for the wire transfer to show up in my bank account, another person, in a neighboring state (I'm in Oregon, the other interested party is in Washington) sent me an email and appears very interested. In order to protect myself in case the first sale falls through, I told him that, although another party in Belgium was interested, I had not yet received payment for the housing, which is true.
So what should I tell the potential buyer from Washington? Personally I think it would not be ethical to sell the housing to the buyer from Washington, as the wire transfer from Belgium is likely in transit as I write these words.
Any advice?
Thanks!!
Ellen
