I just finished up a roll in the camera and the results were far better this time than my first and second attempts. This is a wonderful little camera and thought to share some of my favorite pictures from the set:
Hope you enjoyed them.

Which lens do you have on the camera. For those who don't know the camera, the Agfa Karat 36 is so named because it could take a standard 35mm cassette, while previous Karat models required the Agfa Rapid cassettes, which limited the photographer to 12 photos.

Yes, they are very nice little cameras. I've had two of them & enjoyed using them. Beasts to clean the green Agfa cement, er, grease out of but well worth the effort.

It has the Xenar f/2.8 which I think leaves a beautiful signature on the photo.
This camera holds a special place in my heart as I did the CLA myself, though I had no idea what I was doing. The old grease was tough, but not as much of a problem everyone claims - however it did take a long time to get rid of the stuff.
Though there are many super neat aspects of the camera, my favorite is that the lens can take filters!

I have the 50mm f/2 S-K lens on mine which is for all intents and purposes the same lens used on the Kodak Retina IIa..

One some Agfa cameras, the hardened grease can still be pliable, while on others, it's hardened into a cement-like consistency.
Luckily, you got one that was more like grease than cement.

Anyone have suggestions on how to release the focus ring from it's bind?
Thanks!

I had the 50 f 2.0 version and loved that camera until some ******* stole it out of my car.
Never got over that in all these years.

Anton, I too have a karat with the notorious locking-lube. I've apparently solved the problem. . . maybe . With a very small , very clean atomizer filled with denatured alcohol I applied a tiny-tinny droplet to the troubled area. Then worked the ring back-n-forth. As it began to loosen , using a ballpoint pen , inserted in the small. whole on the lever continue to move it back and fourth . repeat as needed. Good luck Red R.
