I recently picked up a very nice copy of a Agfa Optima 1035 in a cheap lot of old cameras. Everything appears to be in fine order except the self timer does not lock when I wind it. Anyone got an idea how I might fix this myself?
I'm a pretty good tinkerer, but it would be helpful if I knew what I was looking for.
Thanks!

I would think you'd need to open it up to see how the timer latches. You may see some small plastic bits fall out. Or maybe it's been dropped, and the latch has been jarred out of place, and just needs a little coaxing back to where it belongs. I've always wanted a 1535, and the model with the built in flip-up flash. Just don't see them around these here parts.

Dave, here's a site on opening a 535, which is the next model down, but same body. http://www.erikfiss.com/foto/cams/_articles/optimadisassy.html

Thanks farlymac, I'll try to carve out some time this weekend and give it a go using the directions on the link you provided - very helpful! Thanks again!
