In the Netherlands that is..

Yippee! Just ran into AGFA Vista at the 'Kruidvat' chain of drugstores.. They carry 200 and 400 ISO 35mm Vista, both 24 and 36 exposures. Expiry date is 2012.

I just hope it's the same stuff that we had a couple years back when the original AGFA was still in the game. I'd love to get those saturated earthy tones back again. If so, I'll be cramming as much as I can get away with in the fridge.. Who needs milk, cold beer and vegetables anyway? 😀

Let us know how it performs. Vista 800 was really great, I used a bunch for my concert photography a few years ago.

Ferrania is so-so in my experience, but what does it cost? You can order Fuji Superia 400 for 3 euro-ish online you know, and I have a lot more faith in that film.

Yep, not the same. I was very disappointed when I got the negs back from developing. Waste of time and film. Compared to the real Agfa it looked terrible.

It would indeed be a pity if it doesn't offer some of the character that the old Vista did. I'm not after accurate color rendition though; I use Reala/NPH for colour critical shots. I always liked Vista for its saturation, but I also liked Revue for that.

Fortunately at 2.40 per 36 exposure roll (this week's 2+1 offer makes it effectively eur 1.60 per roll) it's not too expensive to find out.. Good excuse to burn a couple to test drive the F65 that I got as a replacement for my broken F75..

Some call it character, some call it a yellow color cast... It's also grainier than a 200 speed film should be.

I've used it, it is nice for the right subject, but getting rid of the yellow can be a challenge.

If by some chance it is the real stuff then by all means, get some. If it doesn't say Agfa and Leverkusen, though, it's not the film you remember.

I have a block of AgfaPhoto Vista 400 that I'm working my way through. It's not bad. It is grainy but not annoyingly so in my opinion.

On the package it says AGFAFOTO is used under license, Agfa-Gevaert does not manufacture, warranty or support the products, and that the film is made in Italy. Ferrania.
