Time for a spot of winter shooting. I'll spend the commute home working out which lens to use this weekend. Having used the Nokton 40mm so much last weekend perhaps its time to dust off the 21 and the 50. Decisions decisions.
You know, rangefinder photography is far more addictive than it ever was with my SLR. I think its the variety of lenses - I never had more than a couple for the (D)SLRs in my life. Having four or five to choose from makes it feel almost like you have a new camera each time you switch lenses. Particularly as the CV lenses I own all tend to feel/handle differently. It really is down to the ergonomics I think...
I'll be seeing a friend who is a fantastic photographer who has just upgraded from film to a Nikon D80, he's been chomping at the bit to see/use my gear though. Slowly chipping away at my dark side SLR buddies and turning them to the rebel alliance
He's spent most of the time since upgrading complaining about the viewfinder and lack of manual lens control so it will be interesting to see how he reacts...

The director of my facility is a camera guy...more money than time to spend on photography...he's got more gear than pictures to show for it.
I like to borrow his 5D now and again.
I've got him looking at a Bessa R3A.

I've snapped hundreds of frames over the past week, just to enjoy the different signatures of my various old lenses. Pure mindless fun.

Yes, what can I get out of tomorrow so I can go shoot?
I'm looking at a couple of my ex-soviet buddies sitting on my desk, and I feel like I've neglected them, but maybe -- just maybe-- one of them will get to go out and play instead of the nokton.

Well, my old m2 and 5cm summitar are whispering in my ear, "let's say we're going Christmas shopping..."

I'll show him this thread tomorrow
I see there are a couple of private sale R-D1 on everyone's least favourite auction site at the moment...
For my sins the arrival of the R2S NHS has got me looking at the VC SC lenses ;(
