Joe inspired me to recover my only not recovered M3. I bought 3 kits so far from Aki-Asahi and they look great-as a matter of fact the longer they're on the better they seem to get. Pretty much indistinguishable from the vulcanite. Anyway, one kit I purchased but didn't use was sitting in a hot closet near my chimney. The edges were curled and it didn't adhere well-my fault-poor storage. I've tried ordering a new kit but never got a confirmation. Also no answer to 3 days of e-mails. Is he on vacation? Or is it my e-mail problem? Stu

Where is the option to look at colors?

My vulcanite is in fine shape but I am curious. Maybe I will order a kit sometime and squirrel it away in case I need it later. When I see cool products like this I always worry they will be discontinued before I need one.

I ordered a Leica III-IIIa kit last weekend and the following day I received a confirmation email with an order number. I sent an international MO Monday.

I just got 2 red Wine Snake kits in the mail yesterday, one for a Zorki 4 and one for an Olympus Pen EES-2. They arrived in 8 days from the time I ordered. My last e-mail from him is dated 3-18-06. Took about 10 minutes to do the Zorki after the kit got here.

The Pen is a different story, the existing cover is coming off in little tiny weeny pieces. I may be looking at an hour or so on this one, depending upon how much focussing fluid I drink while working on it.

Akiro is back! I was getting nervous. I thought I'd have to deal with Brett's nemesis. Akiro said he was down with the flu, so he's behind on his e-mailing. Took 5 days to get back to me. Now he doesn't want to charge me for the kit, but I PayPal'ed him the money anyway. Talk about an honorable guy. This guy is A1.

That sounds like him!!! It's pretty obvious that he must be running a hobby business. His prices are so reasonable, and the product is excellent. I'm also amazed at the extras and free items he seems to enjoy enclosing with an order. A very satisfied customer.
