I was at the Museum of Modern Art today in St Petersburg (Florida), which fired up the old creative juices looking at some works by the likes of Lee Friedlander and Robert Frank.
Back at home I started googling some of the other photographers and discovered someone also shooting in St Petersburg, but in the other one. His name is Alexander Petrosyan.
I am not a fan of the over photoshopped stuff w/ the colours all jazzed up, but a lot of his street work is excellent. Some of it may have been set up (something I have always suspected of some of HCB's work as well), but in the end the image is the main thing, and he has some strong images.
The second link is to his home website. If like me you do not speak Russian you will have to fumble through it, but the shots are in there if you want to spend a little time w/ it. It's like a treasure hunt getting to the photos, and well worth it.
