I use a CV 21/4P (M mount) on my M8 as a 28mm equivalent. Together with a 35/2.5 and 75/2.5, this makes a very light kit.
Trouble is the 21 stock hood does not provide much shielding and the lens could do with a more substantial hood, especially on the M8.
I have not tried the optional LH-1 hood but I suspect it won't provide much more shielding and will block part of the viewfinder.
I tried mounting the hood from the 35mm Ultron on the 21/4 and, although it is the right diameter, it does not fully screw on the lens (different thread). Haven't checked for vignetting either.
Another option I did not try is finding a generic 39mm screw-in hood, vented or not, that would not vignette on the M8.
Any other recommendation?

I will try a Heavy Star and a Leica, and get back to you. I've never had a problem with the stock one when mounted with a filter.
