Anyway an interesting new rumor.

http://www.fujirumors.com/first-organic-sensor-to-be-used-in-cameras-from-late-2014-early-2015/

2014 would be about right for next gen, but more likely it will be 2015. As I remember, the are partnered w/ Panasonic on this... So apsc and m43 sensors by 2015.

Anyway just a rumor.. I was thinking when I first read about this that the organic sensor was going to ship much later than 2015 if at all.

Very cool stuff here. I remember when we here at RFF were debating the abilities of digital sensors a few years ago now. There were lots of people saying that rangefinder lenses, especially wide-angle lenses would not be suitable for use with digital sensors because of the 'light well' feature. The photo diodes are located at the bottom of a bucket and the thoughts then were that not all the incoming light from a wide-angle lens could reach the bottom of the bucket. Since that time, this idea has been proved wrong, or at least not nearly as serious a problem as once thought. NOW... with this organic sensor design the buckets are gone and we'll now have something akin to flat film! Cool!!

Watching the evolution of digital camera design over these past six or so years has been fascinating to watch. I look forward to more. :)
