The best camera is one that still works!
A Sekonic L-308s light meter!
Sigh ... how times change, I hate being skint all the time due to part time employment!
But ... I am excited about this meter ... at last I can get rid of that damned VCII.

I got one for my birthday last year, it's a great light meter. The settings are easy to change and there is not much worry of accidentally moving dials while making measurements. If you don't like the long neck strap, I recommend a thin nylon hand strap (like the kind that come w/ small digital cameras).

My first gear purcahse for the year other than film
was a original Canon hood w/leather case for the
Canon 50 f1.8 rf lens. Looks good on the chrome
f1.8 version.

The solution to the VC II - which I love - is to get one for each film speed you use and epoxy the ISO dial at that speed.

You Leica shooters are all the same ... take the expensive option!
I actually quite like my VCII ... I just keep finding myself in situations where an incident meter would be more useful ... and I fixed the spinning ISO dial a while ago!

The reason I got one is to not have to haul a hand held meter around. You don't like convenience?
I do like convenience ... I'm just sick of taking reflective readings off the back of my hand to judge incident light in tricky conditions!

I like to live on the edge and let the VC dial spin... Which is happening more as it gets broken in.
