No Get Well cards please
Love the xp1, love the 35 and love the 14. But I hate that annoying slip ring manual-auto focus ring thing on the barrel. I keep knocking it into manual position when I shoot fast, mostly bands. It's a bugger! More gaffer tape, I think...

Happened to me yesterday...I'd mount the 14mm and the camera would go into MF mode...and I could not change it...and I did not know about the particular lens design/pushable focus ring...until I asked on this forum and gavin set me right. Should I have read the manual on a lens?...Must admit that I haven't done that in very many years... You learn as you go and, in this case a lesson I will not forget.

Have u tried the rubber band approach in front of the slip ring. Easier to remove when u want than gaffer tape.

Why not return it to Fuji as defective? They should repair it or replace it under warranty.

I think he maybe complaining about a design flaw issue. I just got my 14 this weekend, but too early for me to say I will run into problem he is talking about. It seems to me that the detent for the mf mode on the lens ring feels like it should hold.

Yes, def a design issue and a very annoying one. But that aside, it's a great lens. I agree that a rubber band might work well. We get purple ones on our asparagus here in Oz... Strong and the right size. I'll go to the shops today...! Thanks, all.. -dd
