this time about lenses...local sale canon fd 200/2.8 lens for 200. cdn. which is about 150 usd.
looks to be in good shape, clean...

good deal?

Depends. Older, breechlock mount or the newer bayonet style? Canon also made two versions of the 200/2.8. One had internal focusing, the other (older) version used a traditional helical.

Still, if it's in good shape, $150.00 USD isn't bad.

It's a good price for it. Fast long lenses are useful for getting subject separation.

Any FD 200 is a great lens. I had the latest 200/2.8 version with internal focus, it had amazing bokeh and it was sharp. The earlier unit-focusing 200/2.8 is supposed to be as sharp or sharper (!!)

Now I own the 200/4.0 with internal focus, which is compact and sharp. I also own the Nikon AI 200/4.0 and is slightly bigger than the Canon and does not have internal focus so focus is a bit more stiff. Perfectly sharp and with good bokeh.

I also have the FL 200/3.5 lens and it's much heavier. Haven't tested it optically so far.
