Hi

Are there any fixed Lens RFs capable of going up to 32s/1mn exposures...??

As for inrtechangeable RF I have the M7, which does the job quite well... but i do not particularly fancy the idea of walking in Rio de Janeiro at night with an M7 hanging on a wrist strap...

Any Ideas on this..?

The Yashica electro 35gx goes to 30s or possibly even longer. I forget. It is auto exposure only though.

the g/gs/gsn yashica electro's also, if i remember correctly, are able to do 30s in auto exposure. These are rather cheap cameras.

Yes the GSN will do 30 sec's on Auto and are cheap but hard to find a good one. Often the POD or wiring is worn and tired. If you can find a good one they have top notch lenses as well.

The POD is fixable (i fixed mine in fifteen minutes). Will give you many years of joy once you do it right.

Unlike the earlier Electro 35 series, my Yashica Electro 35GX only goes to about 5 seconds with the lens cap on. It also lacks the B, Auto, & Flash selector of the earlier cameras.

Yes. Most of them. Generally they will have a Bulb setting on their shutters. Is there any particular reason you can't simply attach a short, lockable cable release? As you will presumably need to use a tripod anyway I would not have expected a cable, and a wristwatch or phone for timing the exposures, to be such significant impediments. Or are there other reasons these are not an option for you?
Cheers

Hi Sarcophillus,

I know that, :) but I was talking about automated ttp control of exposure, because I plan to take long exposure pictures in conditions of rapidly varying light conditions, so, pre-calculating EV is not an option.... I am talking of taking pictures in a beach at Sun rise, or shortly before that, so, if I plan to "fuzz" the seawater, I will need a shutter speed in the mn range, do, I plan to stop down, and even though use a strong ND, But I still want to meter exposure correctly... and in these conditions, calculating the correct LV is quite a challenge...

Best Regards,

Alex

I couldn't even get the top off in 15 mins.... then again I am not mechanically talented. I have also had trouble with the ASA wheel and the warning lights.... I have a good one now and will def hold onto it.

Olympus XA can take long exposures automatically. I don't know how long exactly but I've taken exposures up to 10-20 seconds without a hitch.

The fullsize Yashica Electros can take long exposures, the smaller ones can't. The CC has a maximum speed of 16 seconds, the CCN and GX are 8 seconds. Battery strengh can affect the longer shutter speeds, so a fresh battery is a good idea when taking long exposures.
