probably a silly question, but I've been carrying my Canonet ql17 giii around a lot, and really need a lens cover. The size is 48mm, I don't care what it says on the cover, preferably nothing.

Do I just order a 48mm lens cap from B&H? I don't use UV or other filters (I'm a purist 😛 )

Anything else worth getting during a B&H Order?

I have a used Konica Hexar AF coming, does that need any accessories?

Thanks!

On my Mamiya SD I use a generic clip-on lens 49mm cap that I got at a local camera shop. It also fits the GIII just fine. Every "real" camera store will have these in all sizes.

is it tight?

is it tight?

is it a tight fit? or is the cap just generic? would a 48 on the canonet be too loose? thanks.

what types?

what types?

I usually get film in these fuji 4 packs when on sale, like $1.25 a roll or so for ASA 200.

What speeds/types will I save a lot at from B&H over drug/mart stores? Thanks!

Hey, if you're ordering from B&H get a bunch of film too. Spread the cost of shipping around. 😉

well just answered my own question

well just answered my own question

tried a cap from my SLR with 49 filter/cap and it fits, but it's tight. I can see how a 49 works, but a 48 might be a better fit.

I have a 48mm stap on cap from B&H because the Canon original cap became lose and ran away.

jpbob100, that lens shade looks sharp on your avitar pic of the Canonet. What shade is that you are using?

Just saying that if you're gonna order from B&H anyway you might as well order more than just a lens cap. I usually get my Ilford XP-2 from B&H 'cause I have a hard time finding it around here. Fuji and Kodak ISO 100 color, 24 exposure for $1.49.

I use a screw in metal lens cap on my Canonet. It's a good tight but it's a pita to take off and on. I need to get a clip on.

This is one that holds onto the lens with 2 spring-loaded clips and grabs the insides of the threads. Press the clips in to release.

It's snug on both the GIII and the Mamiya -- definitely will not fall off, but very easy to remove and put in place.

I bought the black generic plastic (rubbery type of plastic) push-on cap from B&H. It looks quite handsome on the camera & is very durable. I'm not sure if it was 48 or 49, but it was the closest to 48 in which it is made. It fit perfectly - as if it were made for it.

Unfortunately I can't check the information for you because my Canonet was stolen last summer.

Thanks all -- Gman -- I just bought that one from the darkroom on the bay, and will use my 49mm one for the few days until the 48 gets here.

I like that the darkroom one has no lettering on it, just plain black.

btw, B&H is down for ordering for a few days.

I purchased a Canon push-on cap for my QL17 from KEH.COM. I think it was adveritsed as a 50mm cap but it fits my QL17 perfectly. I paid only a few dollars for it.
