Has anyone had any news from Xabier recently? He hasnt been around for some time now and on his Flickr account he posted that back in Feb he had caught Covid. I sent him a message a few weeks ago to check how he is doing but got no reply back.

Has anyone had any communication from him?

If I remember correctly she had written in the comment of some of his photos that the whole family had been affected by covid and had recovered. Or they were recovering? His silence is worrying.

Post 207 in the Domestic Symphony Thread.

I love the sax photo. That expression is priceless.
Thank you very much Dogman! Yes, now we are much better. :) It has gone!

Here another portrait of the sax player. Tomorrow he has a sax competition and he is a bit nervous...

Hi all,

Xabier has had some long COVID symptoms but is now starting to feel much better. I'm guessing he'll be back taking photos before too long. I'll link this thread to him if you'd like to pass on any good wishes.

Thank you Pan, Robert, Lynn and brusby!

I had Covid on February (one month) and after I began to have some health problems: some tremors in my left arm and leg, sometimes I couldn't understand what people was telling me (it was like sometimes my brain was off to the words I heard).

At the same time, there appeared an edema inside my right eye and I began to lose my "seeing" (I lost 30% and I don't know if I will recover it... I'm taking a lot of corticosteroids , but it doesn't work as the Dr. expected).

At the same time, I was really tired all the time. My legs and arms became to slim down a lot (I lost 4kg in one month). There were some hard moments... but in the last week it seems I'm going up.

Yesterday, for the first time in 4 months I was able to ride with my bicycle 15 minutes with my youngest son: slowly, in a plain road. After I need to stop, but I was happy. I think it is the beginning of my recovery. :)

About photography... I cannot take any of my cameras. I don't know why, but I cannot. I feel "disgust"... it's something very strange, I know, but I cannot.

I hope you all are fine!

Warmest regards,
Xabier.

Xabier, I am very sorry to hear about your covid illness. Those are very debilitating ailments you have. I hope you make a full recovery in time.
My best wishes to you,

Xabier thanks for your words to keep us informed. It must be a difficult time and I wish you a good recovery.
My thoughts are with you. A better time will come. Be strong! One day life will be easier and you’ll enjoy photography again.

Here they call them 'long haulers,' I have a friend that is suffering since October. So I really hope Xabier is on the way to recovery.

Xabier, distant wishes for health’s full return and for the savor of photography again. Lean on your loving family. Lean on friends at RFF. We love and admire your gift.

Thinking of you and your family Xabier, best wishes for a recovery that is as full and speedy as possible.

As a great admirer of your work, I wish you a full recovery and strength. Sending all my prayers. I do know that since my illness last year (with my entire family), motivation to photograph has been very low, with chronic fatigue. Be patient and God bless.
