Has anyone seen an off the shelf replacement for the too long / too heavy power cord for a Fuji battery charger that goes with an X100 or X Pro 1? I would really prefer one that was 12-18" long and much lighter weight. I could even make my own if I knew where to get the plug that goes into the charger. Packing the charger is easy but the power cord really takes up too much space.
I am aware there are chargers with no cord that plug directly into the socket. I have one but its OEM and I fear may not work as well as the original. I know the OEM batteries that came with it are very poor.

The ac adapter for the MacBook Pro used to have two different plugs for the wall outlet. A short stubby one and a corded version. If I remember correctly, the short stubby setup can be used directly on the fuji charger.
I send w iPhone pic after I dig up the combo. I have been told by others this works. I have a wasabi OEM battery charger that I ave never had problems w/ so I don't use this setup.
Otherwise, take your too long cord to a hardware store. Ask for a replacement ac connector. Take it home and cut to length. All u need is a pair of wire cutters, wire strippers and a screw driver. These ac plug replacements don't need any soldering these days. At worst just a screw driver.

As I think about it, the plug was from the old FireWire iPod AC adapter. The picture shows the difference between the iPod config and the MacBook AC adapter. The one from the iPod will work in the MacBook but not the opposite due to the dual notches required.
The middle shot shows the fuji adapter and the AC plug adapter from the iPod before the two are hooked up.

I did exactly the same thing as Gary, it works.
Also works for M9's charger, booo, $5, double kill!
The charger reveals Fuji is really still away from top camera makers, you know I'm talking about the x10 charger, so annoying.. and battery ould be upside every time I try to put it into the body..
BTW my x100's charger died after couple times of use..
Although I'm a Fuji fan owned x100/s x-e1's and x-pro1, I can't be satiesfied with their qualoty. X-pro1 is the nicest and meets my standarda : )

My original charger for the x100s stopped working while on assignment in Bangkok recently. I had no back-up. Fuji has since replaced it, but I also bought one of these which I think is much better. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/837558-REG/watson_c_2104_compact_ac_dc_charger_for.html

Thanks for the suggestions. I ended up ordering an OEM replacement on EBay for the little stubby no wire Apple connector that several recommended. It seems to be referred to as a "duckhead".
It was a few minutes on line, a few mouse clicks, pay $4 and my problem solved. I wish everything in life was so easy to address.

Watch out for fake batteries on eBay. Check the spelling on the battery for errors as most fakes fall down on spelling. Thanks for the suggestions.
