I was wondering if anyone uses their R2 Olive instead of having it sit in a display case? If so how often do you use it?

Lots. And my wife still uses it. At least hundreds of rolls, more likely thousands, probably not tens of thousands.

Why buy a camera to put in a display case? I mean, old, rare ones, maybe. But new? I can't help feeling it would be an indicator of more money than sense.

Cheers,

R.

I had one for awhile and used it like any other camera. Didn't realize it was collectable! Hard to think of any Bessa R as collectible, though.

Olive?

Olive?

Put one in my hands and watch me! I already feel bad not having time to use the cameras I currently own .The though of having one only to sit in a case, just seems like a waste. An old Nancy Sanatra song comes to mind."These boots are made for" . .. .... what?

I don;t think that anyone buys newer Voigtlander to have it sit in their case. I could be wrong...

The olive color clearly helps take better photos! :)

I admit to babying mine a little more than some of my other cameras, but I still use it frequently, usually with a Summicron 50 rigid. Beautiful combo....

yup, seen a guy here in Sao Paulo (Brazil) once with an olive R2 and v2 chrome Summilux 50mm. really beautiful set.

I just happen to have loaded a film this morning in mine, because I felt a bit guilty (actually, it was his turn). Next will be my olive T.

Use mine all the time. It's been my everyday camera since last summer. My shelves are filled with books and movies, not cameras.

Are Olive's worth more?

I have no interest in Bessas but I didn't realize that anyone would not want to use theirs for that reason. A black paint M3, i can understand although I personally would not buy a camera that I wouldn't use.

Have it and use it - together with an olive R3A. Great for keeping track of different films (usually 50 iso in the olives).

I use mine too. Fine viewfinder. Great lenses -- I have a 50 and 35 Color Skopar. I chipped a bit of paint off, and the rubber back is a bit loose. The body is sound otherwise. As for keeping something pristine, I do have a spare olive green camera strap and lens cover, never used!
