Anybody tried Fujicolor Press 1600 film?

I'm curious to see if anybody else has played with it. I can't see using this as an everyday film, but it sure would have come in handy today when I was shooting in a dimly lit gallery... might buy a couple of rolls just to try it out.

I haven't tried Fuji Press 1600 but have used Fuji press 800 and found it to be quite good. Its grain was about what you would expect from a 400 film a few years ago. Good film with, a fast lens you might not need the 1600 version.

Yes, I've burned some rolls of this. It's very good, considering it's speed. I burn it @ 1250. Here's a snap made with it.

When I was shooting film and burned through countless rolls of Fuji Press 800 for work, I found that when pushed to 1600 had much better grain than Fuji 1600 at 1600. The Fuji 1600 was too grainy. The push processing was done via manual tank developing.

I don't know about pulling 1600 and developing normally.

Press 1600 is pretty grainy, yes... but hey if you need that kind of speed, it's there. I use it fairly extensively for photographing jazz bands and it works pretty well. Slightly better in a lower-contrast lens.
